Historic milestone: 7 out of 10 cancer patients survive beyond 5 years.

According to the 75th annual Cancer Statistics report by researchers at the American Cancer Society (Cancer Statistics, 2026) American Cancer Society (ACS), for the first time, the 5-year relative survival rate for all cancers combined has reached 70%, compared to previous reports of 50%. This is due to advances in the early detection of cancers such as breast and prostate cancer and the implementation of targeted therapies for advanced or metastatic tumors.
